Looks like I spoke too soon about the next episode of A Story and a Song. It won’t be ready this weekend. My guitar is on its last legs and simply will not stay in tune. And at least one of us needs to be able to do that to keep these recordings listenable. I looked all over Lampang for a new guitar today and couldn't find one I liked. So I'm off to Chiang Mai tomorrow to see if I can find one there. This will also give me a chance to buy a mic stand. Something tells me this will work better than balancing the mic on my desk.
But seriously, I want to do these songs justice. I also want them to complement the stories rather than ruin them. So after I find a new guitar, I'm going to take a minute to experiment with some different recording techniques. I'm not after polished perfection. Which is good, because I'm also not capable of achieving it. I'm good with raw imperfection. I just want it to be the sonically pleasing kind. Anyway, once I've sorted all that out, the episodes will resume.
